Ridley Scott reveals the plot details and filming window for his untitled Bee Gees biopic. Based on the real-life story of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb and their rise to fame in the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s, Scott was in talks with Paramount Studios about the film last year. Due to a budgetary contract dispute with the studio, it was announced earlier this year that Scott’s next movie wouldn’t be the biopic.

In an interview with Collider, Scott confirms the filming window and shares some details about his upcoming Bee Gees biopic. The director shared that he’s expecting to go into production “in November.” He added that he didn’t think his dispute with Paramount would affect the project in the long term. It’s really about the brothers and how close the brothers were as a gifted family. They’re really very much a family. I think Barry very much was the leader of them, but then Robin also had the voice initially and was also a very good writer. They were a fulfilled team. It is lovely to see this drawn out from scratch. We’ll go from eight years old to the end.

With the movie expected to go into production in five months or so, casting information might come sooner than expected. In fact, the director already has a few names in mind.
