A Valentine’s Visit to Robin Gibb’s Resting Place

Since Valentine’s Day 2022, Samara’s peaceful churchyard has become a special place of remembrance — the final resting place of Bee Gees legend, Robin Gibb.

As you enter through the archway that once belonged to Robin’s beloved estate, Prebendal House, the road to the right leads you gently down toward what is now affectionately known as Robin’s Meadow.

It’s midday, and the sun is shining brightly over the quiet grounds. Music softly drifts through the air, adding to the serene atmosphere.

There is a kind-hearted lady here today, tending lovingly to Robin’s grave. Her name is Jeannette Hammond. She travels all the way from London twice a week, every Monday and Thursday, to care for the site. Flowers are beautifully placed, as always.

“Hello, young lady,” she says warmly to a passerby. “I’m sure Dwight will be here later with his floral tribute.”

Nearby, someone has placed a heart in the tree — a simple but touching gesture. “I’ve always called this Robin’s Tree,” Jeannette says softly.

Just down the way is the Andy Gibb Memorial Stone, located at the Gibb family’s Heritage Centre in Prebendal House — Robin’s cherished home, nestled at the end of the driveway.
